As I reflect on this past year, I can’t believe what a whirlwind it has been!  Everyone knows that Artful Possibilities was born as a result of me wanting to paint with others, wanting to teach and create with like-minded spirits….and….we all know what ended up happening!

It has been so exciting to be a part of the creative awareness and Artful growth of others, from toddlers through adults!  Mike and I have met MANY  wonderful people and families that we consider friends, all as a result of omeur Artful Possibilities studio.   We typically see people we know everywhere we go in town.  It’s great to see our families, especially the kids, greet us with big smiles!

We’ve  had the opportunity to work with the YMCA summer camp group of kids with autism, the YMCA leaders, school and preschool groups.  We brought painting to kids at the Fall Festival at Challenger and demo’d drybrush techniques to the members of the Spring Hill Art League.  We have been recognized by the local newspapers and ‘Spring Hill Now’ many times regarding our offerings.  We have had the opportunity to donate paintings to fund raisers for various groups.  It is a great feeling to be involved in ‘art helping others’.

Every month, we have worked to make improvements to the studio, from creative storage ideas (so many projects, so little square feet!  🙂 )…to many artsy classes in clay, crochet, ceramics and canvas.   We now have 3 kilns, 2 at home and 1 in the studio specifically for glass classes.  New lighting has been installed in the large classroom and it’s awesome…and there’s one more addition made, an awesome platform for me to stand on when teaching canvas classes.  You can now use easels and stools if you’d like and see every stroke I make on the canvas!

My vision is to continue along the path of continuous improvement, to improve the physical/aesthetic aspects of the studio regularly and continue to listen to the needs and ‘wish list’ of the community.

Lots of wonderful classes are being planned for 2014.  This month we will be adding fused glass to the schedules, as well as an occasional twist to the typical Wine n’Whimsy Classes.  “In the works” are additional offerings.

Painting is ‘my thing’ and my true passion….yet, I love it all….all the creative mediums you can think of, however, I had to come to the conclusion that “I can’t do it all”…the need for more time to balance all that needs to be done is ever-present for me, so we have hired some amazing people to help us keep up with the busy times – birthday parties and open paint activities.  You will surely meet new Artful Employees in 2014.  This is a good, positive, forward-moving evolution that is inevitable if we want to continue to provide quality, fresh, new and exciting offerings!  “It’s all good”!

Thanks to everyone for making 2013 amazing and “here’s to” looking forward to an even more amazing 2014!

Lot of Love,
